FUNNEL 101
Recruiting Funnels are frameworks used in recruitment and HR processes to guide the journey of potential candidates from initial awareness to successful hiring. Much like a funnel, they narrow down the pool of applicants as they progress through different stages. Here is a breakdown of the applicant funnel:
Awareness (Top of the Funnel):
Consideration (Middle of the Funnel):
Awareness (Top of the Funnel):
- At this stage, candidates fall into two categories:
- Active Applicants: Those who are ready to apply and directly enter your pipeline.
- Passive Job Seekers: Individuals who may stay in this stage for an extended period.
- Your first touchpoint with candidates occurs here.
Consideration (Middle of the Funnel):
- This is a pivotal step in the candidate journey.
- Potential candidates decide to become active applicants.
- They’ve researched your employer brand, employee value proposition, and are ready to engage.
- The final stage where candidates make their decision.
- Keep them informed and engaged during this critical phase.
- Regular updates and check-in emails reinforce your employer brand and company culture.
